The children in 6th class celebrated their Confirmation today in Newtown Church. Fr PJ Byrne and Fr Eddie Kavanagh concelebrated the Mass, and the children in Tiermohan joined with three children from Newtown NS in the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Tiermohan NS Parents' Council hosted a reception for the children and their parents and friends across the road in Newtown Hall.
Many thanks to Fr PJ and Fr Eddie for a lovely ceremony, to Eileen Nolan and the adult and children choir for beautiful music, to our altar server C. Mc Dowell and to Imelda Regan, our sacristan. The teachers, Mr Sweeney and Mr O' Haire were proud of all the children.

Today was an exciting day for all the children in Tiermohan. Garda Bill and Garda Peter visited our school with their van and bicycle. Garda Peter reminded us of our safety rules while cycling our bikes. Garda Bill showed us around the Garda van, and even put some children in the cells in the back! The children all enjoyed ths visit very much and we look forward to another visit in the future.

Here is a photo of our mural being painted.

Yesterday was a busy day in Tiermohan NS. In the morning we had a visit from Mick Kelly, an engineer working with SIAC. He introduced the world of engineering to the senior students. Then the pupils in 4th and 5th classes were presented with a challenge: to build a car capable of carrying 500g with two seats and lights. The winning entry is displayed here. It was designed and built by engineers A Maguire and B Geraghty.

The girls with their trophy!
The girls of Tiermohan proved too strong for the opposition today at the blitz organised by Cumann na mBunscoil in Newbridge. In their first game they beat St Patrick's 18-4. They followed this by beating Lackagh 17-3, Clogherinkoe 10-2 and St Davids 18-2. They met Rathcoffey in the final and won 16-0. Well done to all the girls concerned and many thanks to Ms Curley for training the girls and to the drivers and supporters.
