The children in 5th and 6th classes had a wonderful day at the Young Scientist Exhibition on Friday 9th last. Before the exhibition, the children discussed the sense of smell of males and females. They formed the opinion that males and females had an equally good sense of smell. They tested this theory using ten common kitchen items, including coffee and ketchup.
*They displayed their work during the exhibition amd tested invited members of the public to take part in the test, which they titled "How do you smell?!!" In total they tested 68 males and 94 females. The average score for males was 7.3 and 7.6 for females, proving that females have a better sense of smell!
Many thanks to R Maher and D Curran for their help during the day.
